Pop-out Panels

In WeatherBug the side tiles pop out of the panel in separate windows when you tap on them.



When you tap outside the window, this gets back in place. this is a clever design to provide a glimpse of information in place, without taking too much space, but provide a simple way to expand in a larger area on demand.
